Mattek is playing the best tennis of her career having just reached the semifinals of the East West Bank Tennis Classic at Los Angeles (one of the US Open Series events.) Mattek upset highly ranked Nicole Vaidosova en route to the semifinals as well as reaching the semifinals in doubles with her partner Sania Mirza. This impressive run has helped Mattek to the highest ranking in her career coming in now at #43 in the world in singles and #27 in the world in doubles.
